Our mission

About ResaleSonar

We built ResaleSonar because resellers deserve pricing they can trust: a clean read on the real secondhand market, never a fabricated number dressed up to look confident.

ResaleSonar is a self-serve, multi-site price tracker and comparable-market-intelligence tool built for resellers. It pings the marketplaces you actually sell on: eBay, StockX, GOAT, The RealReal, Chrono24, Fashionphile, Mercari and more: lines those listings up next to your own catalog, and reports one clean market median. The difference that runs through everything we do: when the data isn't there, we say so. We would rather show you "no market yet" than invent a number you might price against.

Why honest resale pricing matters

Resale runs on judgment, and judgment runs on numbers. If the number is wrong, every decision downstream is wrong too: you underprice a grail, sit on inventory you overpaid for, or talk yourself out of a good buy because a fake comp scared you off. Most pricing tools hide that risk. They average whatever they scraped and hand you a confident figure, even when half the inputs are noise. That confidence is the problem. A clean-looking median built on counterfeits and installment prices is more dangerous than no median at all, because it feels trustworthy.

So we made a rule and we hold ourselves to it: ResaleSonar only shows a market number when there is genuine data behind it. If we can only find one real comparable, or the listings we found are too noisy to trust, the app tells you plainly instead of manufacturing a median from thin air. Honesty is a core engineering constraint the product is built around.

The sonar idea: read the real signal

The name is the whole philosophy. Sonar sends out a ping and listens for what actually comes back, it doesn't guess at what might be down there. ResaleSonar pings the market on demand, listens across every site you track, and then does the hard part: separating the real signal from the noise. A resale market is loud. There are counterfeits priced like the genuine article, "prices" that are really a Tabby or Tamara installment split into four, wrong-condition listings sitting next to mint ones, and the occasional wildly optimistic outlier. Raw scraping treats all of that as data. We don't.

Every listing runs through suppression before it ever touches your median. We filter out likely counterfeits and fakes, catch installment (BNPL) figures being passed off as the real price, and drop wrong-condition and outlier listings that would drag the number somewhere it shouldn't go. What's left is the signal, a market read you can actually price against. That's what reading the real signal means in practice.

Comparables, not barcodes

Retail has clean SKUs. Scan a barcode, match it to an identical new unit, done. Resale has none of that. A used Chanel flap in "very good" condition is not the same item as a pristine one, and neither has a barcode that tells you what it's worth today. This is exactly why generic retail tools break the moment you point them at secondhand inventory, they're looking for an exact-ID match that doesn't exist.

ResaleSonar finds condition-graded comparables instead. It surfaces genuinely similar items: right model, right condition tier, right market, and builds your read from those. You define your own condition taxonomy, because "good" means something different for a watch than it does for a trading card. If you want to see how we think about this in depth, our guide on what resale value really is walks through it, and how we differ from retail repricers covers why barcode matching fails on resale stock.

Who we build for

ResaleSonar is for people who move real inventory in categories where a single mispriced item hurts. That means:

  • Sneaker resellers tracking hype and everyday pairs across StockX, GOAT, eBay and more.
  • Luxury bag sellers pricing against The RealReal, Fashionphile and Vestiaire-style markets, where condition and authenticity are everything.
  • Watch dealers reading Chrono24 and the wider secondhand market on high-ticket pieces.
  • Trading card and collectibles sellers where grade and comparable scarcity drive the number.
  • General resellers and consignment shops juggling a mixed catalog across several marketplaces at once.

The product is deliberately product-agnostic. Nothing is pre-seeded: you add your own products and your own sites, and ResaleSonar tracks exactly what you sell. On-demand "Sync now" collection pulls fresh listings when you ask, and honest "last collected" timestamps tell you precisely how current a read is. Multi-currency support means the number is in your currency, not a guess. And Discovery lets you type a product name, find it across sites, and start tracking it with a click.

How we're different

Two things set ResaleSonar apart, and they reinforce each other: resale comparables and noise suppression. Together they mean you get a market read built for how resale actually works: similar-item matching instead of impossible barcode lookups, and a filtered signal instead of raw, contaminated averages.

Where ResaleSonar sits versus the tools resellers usually reach for

If you're weighing your options, we made honest comparisons for each: ResaleSonar vs spreadsheets, vs retail repricers, and vs generic price trackers. Or start at is ResaleSonar right for you? if you're not sure where you fit.

What we promise you

We won't show you a number we can't defend. We'll tell you how fresh your data is. We'll suppress the noise that makes resale pricing dangerous, and we'll be plain with you when a market is too thin to call. You bring the inventory and the expertise; we give you an honest read of the market so your judgment has something real to stand on.

The goal was never to sound confident. It was to be right, and to admit it out loud when the data can't tell you yet.The ResaleSonar principle

Frequently asked questions

What is ResaleSonar?

ResaleSonar is a self-serve resale price tracker and comparable-market-intelligence tool for resellers. It tracks an item's price across many marketplaces at once, finds condition-graded comparables, and reports a clean market median, showing a number only when there's genuine data behind it.

How is ResaleSonar different from a retail repricer?

Retail repricers match exact barcodes on brand-new stock. Resale has no clean SKU catalog, so that approach fails on secondhand inventory. ResaleSonar finds condition-graded comparables, genuinely similar items in the right condition tier and market, instead of looking for an identical-ID match that doesn't exist.

Why does ResaleSonar sometimes say "no market yet"?

Because we refuse to fabricate a median from thin or noisy data. If we can't find enough genuine comparables to stand behind a number, the app tells you plainly rather than inventing one. A honest "no market yet" keeps you from pricing against data that was never really there.

What kinds of resellers is it built for?

Sneaker resellers, luxury bag sellers, watch dealers, trading card and collectibles sellers, and general resellers or consignment shops running a mixed catalog. It's product-agnostic: you add your own products and sites, and nothing is pre-seeded.

What does ResaleSonar suppress?

Resale noise that would corrupt your market read: likely counterfeits and fakes, installment (BNPL) prices such as Tabby or Tamara splits mistaken for the real price, and wrong-condition or outlier listings. What's left is a filtered signal you can actually price against.
