ResaleSonar uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the site and app are used so we can improve them. This page describes each category of cookie we use, what it is for, whether it is set by us (first-party) or a service provider (third-party), roughly how long it lasts, and how to turn non-essential cookies off. We keep this deliberately plain, the same honesty standard we apply to the market data in the product applies here.
What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. On each later request your browser sends the cookie back, which lets the site recognise your session and remember choices you have made. We also use a few similar technologies, such as local storage in your browser and small pixels, that serve the same purposes. Throughout this page, "cookies" is shorthand for all of these.
First-party cookies are set by ResaleSonar itself. Third-party cookies are set by the service providers we rely on to run the product, for example our payment processor and our authentication and infrastructure providers. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of you or to sell your data.
The categories of cookies we use
We group cookies into three categories. Strictly necessary cookies are always on because the service cannot work without them. Preferences and analytics cookies are optional, and where the law requires it we ask for your consent before setting them.
Strictly necessary
These keep you logged in, protect your account, and make core features work: such as maintaining your session as you move between pages, enforcing security protections against cross-site request forgery, balancing traffic across our servers, and processing payments through our payment provider. They cannot be switched off through our cookie controls because the site would not function without them, though you can still block all cookies at the browser level (which will break sign-in and checkout).
Preferences
These remember choices you make so the product feels consistent between visits, for example your display currency, your saved dashboard column layout, cookie-consent choice, and light or dark mode. Some of these are stored in your browser's local storage rather than as traditional cookies. If you clear them, the affected settings simply reset to their defaults.
Analytics
These help us understand, in aggregate, which pages and features are used and where people run into friction, so we can fix rough edges and prioritise improvements. We aim to keep analytics privacy-respecting and use it to improve the product, not to track you across other websites. Where required, analytics cookies are set only after you consent, and you can withdraw consent at any time.

Cookie categories at a glance
How long cookies last
Some cookies are session cookies that are deleted when you close your browser. Others are persistent cookies that stay for a set period so we can remember you on your next visit, for example to keep a preference or to avoid asking you to sign in again immediately. Persistent cookies generally last from a few weeks up to about two years depending on their purpose, and you can delete them at any time from your browser.
How to control cookies
You are in control. There are two main ways to manage cookies from ResaleSonar:
- Our cookie controls: where we show a consent banner or settings, you can accept or reject optional (preferences and analytics) cookies and change your choice later. Strictly necessary cookies stay on because the service depends on them.
- Your browser: every major browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies, and clear local storage. Look under Settings or Preferences for "Privacy" or "Cookies". You can also use private/incognito windows, which discard most cookies when closed.
Many browsers also support a Global Privacy Control or "Do Not Track" signal. Where applicable law requires us to honour such signals, we will treat them as a request to opt out of non-essential cookies.
Third-party providers
To run ResaleSonar we rely on a small set of trusted service providers, for authentication, hosting and infrastructure, payment processing, and analytics. When you use the app, some of these providers may set their own cookies to deliver their part of the service (for example, to complete a secure payment). Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as the product evolves or as our providers change. When we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of ResaleSonar after an update means you accept the revised policy, subject to any consent we are required to obtain.
