This Privacy Policy explains how ResaleSonar ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use our website and the ResaleSonar application at app.resalesonar.com. In short: we collect the account and billing details needed to run your subscription, basic usage data to keep the product working, and the public marketplace URLs and product names you choose to track. Who we are
ResaleSonar is a self-serve, multi-site resale price tracker and comparable-market-intelligence tool for resellers. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. What data we collect
We collect only what we need to provide the service, bill you, keep the product secure, and improve it. That falls into four buckets.
Account information
When you sign up we collect your name, email address, a hashed password (or the identifier from a third-party sign-in if you use one), your workspace/organisation name, and the roles of any teammates you invite. If you enable multi-factor authentication, we store the data needed to verify it.
Billing information
Paid plans are processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card number on our servers, the processor handles that. We retain billing metadata such as your plan (Starter, Growth, Pro, or Custom), subscription status, billing contact, invoices, and the last four digits and card type as returned to us. Usage and analytics data
To keep the product reliable and to understand how it is used, we collect standard technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages and features used, timestamps, referring pages, and error/diagnostic logs. We use privacy-respecting analytics and keep this data proportionate to running and improving the service.
The products and marketplace URLs you choose to track
ResaleSonar works on the products and public marketplace listings you add yourself. Nothing is pre-seeded, you decide what to track. This includes the product names, the public URLs of listings on marketplaces like eBay, StockX, GOAT, The RealReal, Chrono24, Fashionphile, and Mercari, your condition taxonomy and settings, currency preferences, and the collected price observations that build your market view. We collect prices from those public listings so we can line them up in your feed, compute an honest market median, and suppress noise like counterfeits and installment (BNPL) prices. How we use your data
- Provide the service: run price collection when you use "Sync now", show your feed, compute market medians, and apply suppression.
- Manage your account and subscription, take payment, and send transactional emails (receipts, security alerts, service notices).
- Keep the product secure: detect abuse, prevent fraud, enforce plan limits, and maintain audit logs.
- Improve the product: diagnose bugs, measure feature usage, and prioritise what to build next.
- Provide support when you contact us.
- Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use the products or URLs you track to build a profile of you for advertising.
Legal bases (GDPR)
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: contract (to deliver the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (to secure, maintain, and improve the product, balanced against your rights), legal obligation (tax, accounting, responding to lawful requests), and consent where required (for example, non-essential cookies). You can withdraw consent at any time.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, secure the app, and understand usage. Strictly necessary cookies are always on because the service cannot function without them; analytics and preference cookies are optional. Sharing and sub-processors
We share personal data only with service providers who help us run ResaleSonar, and only for that purpose. These sub-processors act on our instructions under contractual data-protection commitments. In general terms, they include:

We may also disclose data if required by law, to enforce our Terms, to protect the rights and safety of users or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we will notify you). International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or transfers to jurisdictions recognised as providing adequate protection, so your data stays protected wherever it is handled.
Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. As a general rule: account and workspace data is retained while your subscription is active; the products, URLs, and price observations you track are kept while your account holds them and are deleted when you remove them or close your account; billing and invoice records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires; and diagnostic logs are kept for a limited period, then deleted or aggregated. When you close your account we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain specific records to meet a legal obligation.
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, tenant isolation between workspaces, encrypted backups, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, but we take safeguarding your data seriously. For more detail on our practices, see our Security page and current system status.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. Under GDPR/UK GDPR these include the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and the right to data portability. Under CCPA/CPRA (California) these include the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, note that we do not sell your personal data. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
- Access & export: request a copy of the personal data we hold, in a portable format.
- Correction, ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data (much of it you can edit directly in the app).
- Deletion, ask us to delete your data; you can also delete tracked products and close your account yourself.
- Objection & restriction, object to or restrict certain processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent: where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these, email support@resalesonar.com. We will verify your identity and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. If you are in the EU/UK and are unhappy with our response, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children
ResaleSonar is a business tool intended for adult resellers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16 (or the minimum age set by your local law). If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product and the law evolve. When we make material changes we will update the "last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the app. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
